I got to celebrate my first Mother's Day this year and it was FANTASTIC. Ted had worked a lot the previous week so we both had 4 days off together...it was so nice and we got to spend a lot of time together as a family. With Ted coaching and me having to work every other weekend, we don't get a lot of quality time together it seems so it was nice to be able just to hang out...we rode our bikes downtown for breakfast a few days, went on some hikes in the Foothills...and just hung out. :)

We met my family at Bungalow in Hyde Park for Mother's Day brunch. I hope all you moms had a great day!



May has been another great month for us, but this month FINALLY Ke'akua is eating "solids" and can't get enough. Now I think he is making up for loss time. He is really enjoying his squash, sweet potatoes and any sort of fruit, but not so sure about the peas and green beans...

Now we're moving on to mom's chocolate covered coffee beans. :)


A friend of mine, Kristen Bruce, and I have been meeting for "play dates" since before Ke'akua and her son Luke were born. We've continued this since they've been born and try and meet at least monthly. Well, once the weather finally warmed up, we all met at Camel's Back Park for Ke'akua's introduction to the swings. He LOVED them! Check it out....

We also spent the day with my mom and muma at the Saturday market while Ted was out of town for a soccer tournament. Yasone met us for coffee and of course some time with Ke'akua.

April...The Cruise

Our first family vacation: Caribbean Cruise

This vacation has been in the works over the past few months and Ted's aunt, Christina had to coordinate the schedules of many family members in order to get the greatest attendance...all in all she did very well, but both Marcus and Tom were definitely missed.

Preparing for a vacation typically consists of Ted and I ensuring we've got adequate clothes, most importantly our swimsuits, for the duration of our trip, but this trip consisted of a little more planning. I had no idea what kinds of things were must-haves for a 7-month old to travel well. I did not want to be those people who drive the rest of the passengers nuts with a wailing baby. All in all we did very well...especially for our first trip, and Ke'akua traveled like a champ.
