In July, Ted and his buddies Ryan Munson and Ryan Froehlich decided they along with the dogs Jackson, Izzy and Payton all needed a "boy's trip" so off they went to Ketchum to explore the 4th of July trail / summit. A little hiking, some fishing and a few cocktails led to a great weekend.
Here are a few pictures from the boy's weekend:

July thru October 2008
Months have passed and were slowly adjusting to Ruffus's arrival (as is Payton). Payton often asked when the annoying creature would be leaving...he had had enough! But then with little excitement we had finally found someone we liked and trusted to help us with our home renovation; it had only been a good year in the making. The renovation started mid-July and for the next 3 months or so we would be living with my in-laws whom I remind you already have a dog of their own. That means Ted and myself along with his parents and 3 dogs...this could be interesting. Really though it wasn't bad at all and we were very thankful that we had family near by and were willing to let us crash with them for awhile.
Here are a few pictures of the renovation and for those of you who haven't seen it, the end product! We love it and our so happy to be back home! :)

May 2008
In May, Ted took a trip with his brother Andy and dad to California for his Papa Paul's annual round-up.
Papa Paul owns about 1200 acres of land just outside of Yosemite National Park - it's absolutely amazing. He owns and raises about 300 Longhorn and Black Angus cattle, but has one very special one that the family bought him a few years ago. His name: Snotty Scotty.
There is also a picture of Ted's dad Bart playing horseshoes against Andy....he was on the championship team this year...nice form, Bart!

April 2008
In addition to asking Ted for another dog for the majority of our relationship, I have also asked him about taking a vacation to Mexico. And to no avail, it was always a NO! You see Ted and a few of his buddies went down to Mexico when in college and lets just say it was not a good experience therefore, I wouldn't get to go...until one of his buddies at work was telling him about a trip he and his family would be going on; one where they were planning on staying in an all inclusive resort. Hmmmmm that may be a little better. :) One day, Ted asked me what I thought and without hesitation I said it sounded like a blast. Which I may add, was a little uncharacteristic for me - traveling with a family on their "family vacation" and with a family that I don't even know that well. Truthfully though, I think I initially said yes because I didn't think Ted was serious, but to my surprise he was serious and I had a great time. Who wouldn't for goodness sakes: an all inclusive resort, naps everyday in the afternoon, warm weather, beautiful views of the ocean and yummy drinks (virgin for me please).
Again....January 2008
So, after finally deciding it was time for me to get my own dog, we then found out we were expecting...we waited about 8 weeks before we told our parents and siblings and a good 16 weeks before we let others know. We were so excited and knew our little one would be joining us in October...
January thru March
Ted and I have now been together for about 9 years and for about 4 of those years I have been wanting my own dog; one who listens to me and wants to hang out with me. Don't get me wrong Payton is probably one of the best dogs I have ever been around, he's won over my mom for goodness sakes who, to say the least, is not a fan of dogs, but he is not mine. He is definitely Ted's. It took us living together for a year, before Payton even paid attention to me. Then one day (November of '07) Ted's friend, Nicholas Vernon Veith, informed us that he would be breeding his dogs. That's when it all happened and Ted STARTED to think about it......and of course, we had to ask Payton his thoughts. They decided it would be okay and that's when we all made a trip to Pocatello and picked out our newest family member, Ruffus Kealoha Douglass.
Here he is the first few days....
The best part is that despite Ruffus being my dog, he still doesn't listen to me (just like Payton) and would rather spend all of his time with Ted. Oh well....
